CULINARY ACCESS & RELIEF EVENTS
Culinary Access & Relief Events (CARE) is our food distribution program that feeds local community members with free, culturally respectful, filling, and nutritious food.

UNLIKE TRADITIONAL FOOD PANTRIES, CARE IS GROUNDED IN YOUTH LEADERSHIP, MUTUAL AID, AND CULTURAL DIGNITY.
For many Brooklyn residents, CARE is one of the few resources that does not require documentation (such as citizenship) or extensive intake forms, eliminating stigma and barriers to access. For our fellows, CARE is an opportunity to lead. Each young person trains in culinary arts and food justice while building professional and emotional skills through real community service.
CARE ADDRESSES FOOD INSECURITY WHILE EXPANDING ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR JUSTICE-INVOLVED YOUTH.
Each year, we deepen the impact of CARE, our food access and youth employment program launched during the pandemic. Fellows, staff, and volunteers prepare and distribute culturally relevant groceries and hot meals to 300+ Brooklyn families weekly. Through building community, we have learned that recipients of our groceries and meals are:

71%
